Mary Asselstine wins the prestigious 2022 Canadian Wildlife Federation Roland Michener Conservation Award.
The Dufferin Marsh Nature Connection is pleased to announce that founding member and community advocate Mary Asselstine has won the prestigious 2022 Canadian Wildlife Federation Roland Michener Conservation Award.
Each year the Canadian Wildlife Federation selects, from candidates all across Canada, individuals who have shown remarkable achievements in their work in wildlife research, conservation and education. This year, the CWF has chosen Schomberg resident Mary Asselstine for their most prestigious award; the Roland Michener Conservation Award.
Established in 1978 by the Canadian Wildlife Federation, this award is a tribute to the former Governor General of Canada, and is awarded to any individual who has demonstrated a commitment to conservation through effective and responsible activities that promote, enhance and further the conservation of Canada’s natural resources.
We at the Dufferin Marsh Nature Connection are very pleased that Mary has been awarded the 2022 Roland Michener Award. We are very proud of what has been achieved through the activities and programmes at the Dufferin Marsh and recognise Mary’s leadership contribution to them.
